A leading Mexican company with over 15 years of experience in the distribution of electronic and hardware products is expanding its team and is looking for an Import Analyst.
Objective
Ensure the control, monitoring, and verification of the import process for merchandise. Effectively communicate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and all parties involved in the import process to ensure timely and accurate shipment arrivals. Act as the liaison between the company and logistics partners while ensuring supplier payment management and the corresponding accounting processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Customs, International Logistics, International Business, or a related field.
- Intermediate to Advanced English
- Experience using ERP systems (SAI preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams).
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, preferably related to imports from China.
- Experience processing import permits.
- Knowledge of customs declarations (Pedimentos).
- Knowledge of tariff classification (HS Codes).
- Strong understanding of Incoterms.
- Experience developing, analyzing, and monitoring KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and oversee the entire import logistics process.
- Prepare and control all documentation required for each import operation, ensuring compliance with customs and logistics regulations.
- Coordinate and review pre-shipment reports with all involved departments.
- Review and validate container landed costs before submitting them to the Administration and Imports Management team.
- Review shipping documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, and Bills of Lading) to prevent delays in customs clearance.
- Follow up with customs brokers to ensure proper customs processing.
- Monitor the receipt of invoices issued by logistics service providers (customs brokers, freight forwarders, warehouse crews, forklift services, insurance companies, etc.).
- Request quotations, negotiate, and coordinate contracts with international logistics providers required for the transportation of imported goods.
- Track ocean and ground transportation to ensure on-time delivery throughout the import process.
- Prepare and submit inventory reports, outstanding invoices, and proforma invoices pending payment to the Administration and Imports Management team.
- Analyze import costs, including duties, freight, and handling expenses, to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Achieve departmental objectives and ensure compliance with established KPIs.
Location
Naucalpan, State of Mexico (next to Lomas de Chapultepec).
Schedules
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
