Job Description:
We seek a motivated PR and Programme Associate to join our team at Space in Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop PR plans aimed at maximizing markets and client-facing campaigns and ensure that our PR strategy reflects our company strategy and vision, and achieves our goals which aligns with the clients key themes, campaigns and thought leadership
- Social media management and growth
- Provide innovative and impactful communications tactics and activities for delivery across multiple external audiences, via appropriate digital channels and platforms
- Organise and manage company events, conferences, webinars and meetings and manage logistics and communications with event vendors and service providers,
- Manage company’s public image and reputation enhancing channels such as social media and email marketing and other appropriate channels to promote company’s business
- Establish and build relationships with general, national and regional media contacts to enable coverage of activities, campaigns and external leadership profiles, in conjunction with the Managing Director.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in direct media relations from communications and/or media relations experience in other Professional services firms, large multinational corporations, or consulting firms / PR agencies managing large-firm clients
- Demonstrated strategic media planning and implementation
- Excellent written and verbal communication and public relations skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, stakeholder management skills and ability to work in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders
- Intellectual curiosity and deep understanding of key economic and business trends
- Ability to execute under tight timelines, pressure and competing priorities with limited supervision
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to draft OpEds, edit articles, craft press releases and oversee interviews with senior leaders and prep them for media interaction
- Strong ability to develop a strategic PR approach to align to firm strategic priorities with marketing and communications plans
- Exceptional understanding of best practice media relations approaches, vehicles, strategies and tactics
- Familiar with the integration of social media into PR campaigns
- Strong project management, problem solving, organizational and research skills with a keen attention to detail
- Must be fluent in English.
- Proficiency in Arabic, French, and Portuguese is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Other Requirements
- This position is fully remote, with a preference for candidates based in Africa or near the GMT+2 time zone.
- Citizenship of an African country is required.
