Senior Test Automation Engineer (Python)

We are looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer with Python experience for a project based in Puebla, Mexico, and Detroit, USA.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software development, software testing, or quality assurance.
- 3+ years of experience developing or working with test automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of the ASAM XIL standard.
- English proficiency: C1.

Technical Skills

-
Python, LabVIEW, C, C++: 5+ years of experience in software development, testing, or quality assurance.
- TestStand, *, AutomationDesk, TestExec: 3+ years of experience with test automation frameworks.
- Software Testing / QA: Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and quality assurance practices.
- PXI, cRIO, ScaleXIO: Familiarity with data acquisition hardware for Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) testing.
- Databases: Experience with database integration and usage within test automation frameworks.
- ASAM XIL: Knowledge of the ASAM XIL standard.
- APIs: Experience using and testing REST APIs.
- DevOps: Good understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
- Cloud: Familiarity with cloud-based simulation platforms and parallel computing techniques.
- CI/CD: Experience with CI/CD orchestration tools such as Jenkins, Red Hat OpenShift, and Tekton.
- Version Control: Knowledge of GitHub and GitOps workflows.
- AUTOSAR: Experience with Classic and Adaptive AUTOSAR architectures.
- VeriStand, MATLAB, ControlDesk: Familiarity with embedded software development for real-time systems.




- MIL / SIL / HiL: Solid understanding of Model-in-the-Loop, Software-in-the-Loop, and Hardware-in-the-Loop methodologies.
- CAN, Ethernet, LIN, FlexRay: Knowledge of automotive communication protocols.
- Agile: Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and integrating testing into Agile development processes.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for MIL, SIL, and HiL environments.
- Collaborate with the development team to integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Evaluate and implement the most suitable test automation frameworks, tools, and strategies to meet project requirements and support product scalability.
- Continuously improve the automation framework to enhance reliability, performance, and test coverage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Software Development, QA, and Product Management, to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Mentor junior team members, conduct code reviews, and promote test automation best practices.
- Advocate for quality engineering and automation best practices across the organization.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to optimize testing efficiency.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in test automation.
