Bar & Deck Operations – Entry Level Roles

Positions: Deck Attendant | Pool Bar Attendant | Bar Back

Position Overview

We are recruiting entry-level Bar & Deck professionals for cruise lines and maritime operations, supporting beverage service and guest areas in outdoor and high-traffic environments.

These roles are idóneo for candidates with strong energy, service attitude, and interest in developing a career in bar operations onboard.

Key Responsibilities

Deck Attendant

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of outdoor guest areas (pool decks, loungers, public spaces)
- Assist guests with towels, seating, and general requests
- Monitor guest areas and ensure safety and hygiene standards
- Support service teams during peak hours

Pool Bar Attendant

- Prepare and serve basic beverages at pool or outdoor bars
- Assist bartenders during high-volume service
- Maintain bar cleanliness and stock levels
- Provide fast, friendly, and efficient guest service
- Follow company service and hygiene standards

Bar Back

- Support bartenders with daily operations
- Restock beverages, ice, glassware, and supplies
- Maintain bar setup and cleanliness at all times
- Assist in basic drink preparation when required
- Ensure smooth service flow during busy periods

Work Environment

- Cruise ships (outdoor and indoor service areas)
- High-volume, fast-paced service
- Guest-facing roles with continuous interaction

Working Conditions

- 10–11 hours per day
- 7 days per week
- Physically active roles (standing, lifting, moving)
- Exposure to outdoor conditions (sun, humidity, wind)

Experience

- Minimum 6 months – 1 year experience in:
- Bars
- Restaurants
- Hotels
- Beach clubs / high-volume service environments
- Customer service experience required

Ship Experience

- Not required

Skills

- Basic knowledge of bar operations and service
- Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced environments
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Teamwork and ability to support multiple roles
- Physically fit (lifting, standing for long hours)

Language

- English: B1 minimum (conversational level required)

General Requirements

- CV in English (Harvard format), updated with no gaps
- Minimum 2 verifiable reference letters
- Valid passport
- Availability to work:
- 10–11 hours per day
- 7 days per week
- High level of discipline, hygiene, and professionalism

Commitment

- Ability to complete onboarding documentation within 2–4 months maximum
- Willingness to cover documentation costs (medical, visa, certifications if applicable)
