Name of the Position: Sr Project Controls Analyst

Location/Modality: México (Office-Based) with travel to project sites in the United States as required.

About the role: The Senior Project Controls Analyst is responsible for leading all project controls functions for assigned construction projects, including budget development, cost control, forecasting, progress reporting, and change management. This role partners closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects remain financially healthy and operationally efficient.

The Senior Project Controls Analyst is expected to work independently while coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams and may supervise Project Controls

Key Responsibilities:

Project Budget & Cost Control

- Lead the development, maintenance, and management of project budgets throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Manage budget revisions resulting from contract changes, scope modifications, and budget transfers.
- Develop and maintain cost control systems for assigned projects.
- Analyze project costs, forecasts (ETC/EAC), and budget performance.
- Identify and report budget variances while providing recommendations for corrective actions.

Forecasting & Reporting

- Lead the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly cost reports.
- Maintain project forecasting tools, including Procurement Plans, Staffing Plans, and Goods Receipt Plans.
- Develop and maintain progress measurement, monitoring, and reporting systems.
- Present Forecast vs. Budget reports to project leadership, company management, and clients.

Change Management

- Review and evaluate subcontractor change order requests.
- Analyze owner-directed and field-related change requests.




- Support negotiations regarding contract modifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all project changes.

Financial Management

- Review subcontractor payment applications and supplier invoices.
- Coordinate owner billing preparation and invoicing.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting throughout project execution.
- Maintain integrity of project financial data and reporting systems.

Project Coordination

- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Operations, Procurement, and Field Teams.
- Coordinate Project Controls Analysts and Junior Project Controls Analysts when assigned.
- Participate in Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings.
- Travel to construction sites throughout the United States as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within Project Controls.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 10–15 years of Project Controls experience supporting industrial or large commercial construction projects.
- Previous experience working on industrial, EPC, heavy civil, infrastructure, energy, or commercial construction projects.
- A construction industry background is required.
- Candidates with experience exclusively in finance, accounting, banking, or corporate financial planning will not be considered.
- PMI or AACE certification is preferred.

Must Have:

- 8+ years of Project Controls experience within the construction industry.
- Previous experience supporting industrial construction projects.
- Construction background is mandatory.
- Candidates with only finance or accounting backgrounds are not suitable.
- Experience managing budgets, forecasting, cost control, and change management.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience using Project Management platforms (Procore, Unifier, Primavera, Oracle, SAP, Vista, etc.).
- Ability to analyze construction schedules and project performance.
- Experience working directly with Project Managers, Engineers, Superintendents, and Field Operations.
- Ability to travel and/or relocate within the United States as project needs require.
- Advanced English communication skills.

Schedule:

- This position follows active construction project schedules.
- The anticipated work schedule is Monday through Friday; however, working hours may be extended depending on project requirements.
- Saturday work may be required during critical phases of the project.
- When not assigned to a project site, employees will work from one of the company's offices.
- The employee will be based in Mexico and will be able to work from offices near active construction projects when required.
