Position Overview
Procurement Professional at Collins Aerospace. The role manages the procure‑to‑pay process for indirect materials, ensuring timely and efficient purchasing activities that support operational requirements and supply chain objectives. The position is based in Mexicali, Mexico.
Responsibilities Execute standard buyer work to manage a group of suppliers, using appropriate systems and tools to place demand, confirm commitments, and ensure on‑time delivery. Process and maintain Request for Quotes (RFQs), purchase orders, and manage supplier portal activities. Analyze and monitor contract performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. Manage supplier relationships and drive improvement activities by identifying trends, managing risks, and utilizing procurement tools effectively. Review critical shortages with stakeholders and collaborate with suppliers to improve delivery schedules, ensuring actions are taken to close gaps. Work with suppliers to create Line of Balance (LOB) and Work in Progress (WIP) trackers to monitor part recovery status as needed. Analyze root causes of overdue deliveries and implement permanent solutions to mitigate recurrence. Drive delivery improvement plans, such as overdue reduction and buffer compliance initiatives. Collaborate with business units to eliminate risks and roadblocks, including resolving outstanding SRIs, CADs, and FAIs to improve supplier performance. Proactively lead alternative solutions to resolve operational challenges. Lead cross‑functionally on projects to support procurement strategies. Utilize project management skills to effectively manage suppliers and operational challenges. Required Qualifications University degree in Business Administration,
International Business, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or related field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of experience. Minimum 5 years experience with SAP procurement software or similar ERP systems (Oracle, Epicor, People Soft, APEX, PRISM). Minimum 5 years experience in supplier management, including performance improvements, risk mitigation, and handling RFQs, purchase orders, and supplier portals. Advanced English proficiency. Preferred Qualifications Strong communication skills, fluent and professional in written and spoken English. Previous experience in aerospace electronics procurement and familiarity with aerospace drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of supply chain practices in the aerospace and defense industry, export regulations, and building strong supplier relationships. Demonstrated expertise in managing, analyzing, and interpreting data to drive decision‑making and deliver measurable process improvements. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and SAP for data analysis, reporting, and resource planning.
