We are looking for people who are interested in making a difference in equitable access to healthcare, quality, and choice of end-of-life care, and would like to support our organization in enhancing the end-of-life experience for those who access our space and resources.These Volunteer Positions Offer a Unique Opportunity To:Participate in a dynamic and an important community resourceEnhance the end-of-life experience for those eligible for MAiD and the people supporting themProvide emotional, logistical, and administrative support for those accessing MAiD, their supporters, and MAiDHouse team membersThis is a great opportunity for someone with a versátil schedule who has excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to serve their community at both a local and national level.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities will vary depending on volunteer position and strengths, but may include:Project committee participationEvent planning and coordinationAiding in research conducted by MAiDHouse and community partnersAdministrative supportSupport with planning for the day of MAiD provision.Assisting those eligible for MAiD and those supporting them on the day of provision and follow up after the booking in the areas of:Coordination and AdministrationSocial/Emotional SupportResource ConnectionParticipating in evaluations and other quality assurance activities.Qualifications:Willingness to learn or build skills in not-for-profit end-of-life support; experience a definite asset.Passion for supporting the rights of Canadians to end-of-life choice, including but not limited to access to MAiD, with a strong commitment to the mission and values of MAiDHouse.Excellent listening, interpersonal, and communication skills.Ability to multi-task and coordinate a variety of different activities.A basic understanding of death, dying, grief and bereavement,
