**JOB PURPOSE**
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Lead Customer Engineer for GDI - work with customer.
- Work with PHINIA Engineering System; GES, DFMEA, etc.
- Primary contact for existing and new pursuit customer programs.
- Define product definition for customer programs - BOM, etc.
- Work with customers to achieve successful packaging.
- Customer project team meetings to complete actions required.
- Lead customer tech reviews, responsible for customer SOR.
- Release prints & drawings on time, accurately; work in GES.
- Responsible for successful validation on time.
- Support Supplier component tech reviews
- Problem solving for customer returns,
warranty.
- Competitive analysis, future design development
- Cost reduction; special focus to work with customers & suppliers to reduce costWork with GS/Core Engineering team to ensure BOD & Lessons Learned
Major Job Qualifications:
- Fuels, hydraulics experience
- CFD, FEA and Vibration analysis experience
- Experience/understanding of material properties
- Experience with precision tolerance components
- Understanding / experience with prints & GD&T;
- Understanding of manufacturing processes
- Design for Six Sigma; Robust Engineering
- Red X ®, Six Sigma or other engineering problem solving methods
- Understanding of automotive engine function
- Auto industry experience
- Ability to work within a dynamic group, share knowledge, accept instruction
- Experience working with a designer to create prints and specifications
- Experience evaluating supplier manufacturing processes, gaging.Experience working with suppliers to reduce component cost.
Years of Experience: +3 Years
Educational Background: BSE in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Required | MSE Preferred
