**Automation & Controls Engineer (TN Visa Eligible)**
**Location**: Pennsylvania, United States
**Job Type**: Full-time | On-site | Hands-on role
**Position Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled **Automation & Controls Engineer** to serve as a Subject Matter Expert in high-volume, high-speed manufacturing environments.
This hands-on engineering role focuses on the design, programming, implementation, and optimization of industrial automation and control systems to ensure operational stability, efficiency, performance, and system security.
This position is structured to align with **TN Visa Engineer eligibility requirements**.

**Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities**
- Design, deploy, monitor, and maintain industrial automation systems, PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and control architectures to support plant KPIs
- Troubleshoot and provide advanced technical support for automated manufacturing processes, including high-speed production lines and robotic systems
- Develop, modify, and optimize PLC, HMI, and robotic programs
- Maintain, control, and document backup programs for all control processors, robotics, HMIs, and data systems
- Install, configure, test, and commission new automation hardware and software
- Evaluate, test, and validate new or modified software programs to ensure compliance with engineering standards and user requirements
- Support procurement and integration of automation equipment for material handling, production processing,
and packaging operations
- Specify replacement parts and manage automation-related maintenance contracts
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, schematics, and technical standards for automation equipment
- Conduct technology research and provide engineering recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop technical training materials and deliver training to technicians, operators, and management
**Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience**
- **Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related engineering field**,
- **5-8 years** of hands-on engineering experience programming and troubleshooting PLC-based automation systems
- Demonstrated experience in **high-speed, high-volume manufacturing environments**:
- Extensive knowledge of **Allen-Bradley PLC platforms** and industrial control systems
- Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming, modification, and system integration
- **Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written) required**:
- Strong engineering, analytical, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to interface effectively with engineering teams, operations, vendors, and leadership
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize engineering tasks and work orders
- Experience developing and delivering technical training
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
