AI Agentic Engineer & Ops Support — Mid Level
Remote | Full-time The Company A California-based AI consulting firm (founded 2010) that helps enterprise clients integrate artificial intelligence into their operations. They don't sell off-the-shelf software — they build custom AI agents that automate processes, connect systems, and make decisions without human intervention. 15+ years in data analytics, now deep into agentic AI. 90% client retention rate. Compensation
$2,500–$3,500 USD net per month, depending on experience and skill level demonstrated during the interview process. The Role
We're looking for someone with solid hands-on experience who's ready to own real AI agent work — the kind that runs in production, serves real clients, and needs to keep working. This is not a theoretical or research role. You'll work alongside a lead and other team members, taking real ownership of production AI systems from day one.
We care about proven skill, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently, backed by genuine curiosity and a strong work ethic. If you can hit the ground running, take ownership, and genuinely enjoy building things, this is a great place to grow. You will:
Customize and develop AI agents and LLM Skills (primarily with Claude/Anthropic), with support from senior team members as needed.
Handle post-client-review agent adjustments and day-to-day maintenance of production systems.
Debug issues and monitor systems to ensure smooth operation, escalating and resolving independently where possible.
Apply application-level and LLM security practices (agent security, prompt injection awareness, RBAC, PII handling).
Improve testing and development workflows.
Collaborate closely with an existing team (lead + junior members), providing guidance and mentorship where useful. Must-Haves
Intermediate to advanced JavaScript knowledge (backend) — the team's primary stack.
1–2+ years of hands-on experience building or working with AI agents / LLM-powered systems.
Practical, demonstrable experience with at least one LLM platform (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, or similar) in a real project or production setting.
Upper-intermediate to advanced English (you'll read docs, communicate with the team, and may interact with clients).
Availability during 9am–5pm EST.
A proactive, ownership-driven mindset — you solve problems independently and know when to ask for input.
Ability to give and receive feedback well, and to mentor less experienced teammates when needed. Nice to Have
Solid Python skills.
A track record of shipped projects involving AI agents, automation, or chatbots.
Business awareness — understanding of how technical decisions impact clients, not just the code.
Experience working directly with clients or non-technical stakeholders.
Coursework, bootcamp, or certification related to software development or AI.
Who Thrives
Here
Curious, dependable, and comfortable owning problems end to end. Someone who shows up ready to build production-grade systems and help the team grow. Bonus if you're a clear communicator who can explain technical decisions without overcomplicating them. Process
We're shaping the interview rounds now and will guide you through each step. Looking to move quickly — ideally within the next few weeks.
