As a
Chassis CVA Engineer
, you will support the design, development, and release of key chassis components, ensuring that all automotive quality, cost, and timing standards are met. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to ensure proper component integration into the vehicle architecture. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior professional or recent graduate to grow within a major automotive framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Design &
- Development: Support the design, development, and release processes for chassis components.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Design, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality teams to ensure components integrate flawlessly into the vehicle architecture.
- Data &
- Change Management: Manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) and actively track Engineering Change Notices/Requests (ECN/ECR) utilizing company Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Supplier Communication: Maintain direct contact with automotive suppliers to monitor prototype manufacturing progress and resolve technical issues.
- Technical Documentation: Assist in reviewing critical engineering documents, including DFMEA, DVP&R;, and 2D drawings utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;).
Required Qualifications &
- SkillsEducation &
- Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 0 to 3 years of engineering experience.
Note: Automotive internships, co-ops,
or a background in cost engineering with design exposure are highly valued.
Technical Skills
- Core Software: Proficiency or familiarity with NX (CAD) and Teamcenter (PLM).
- Engineering Principles: Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;).
- Commodity Knowledge: Familiarity or interest in chassis commodities such as Front &
- Rear Axles/Subframes, Control Arms &
- Links, Springs &
- Dampers, Stabilizer Bars, Steering Gear &
- Rack, and Steering Columns &
- Shafts/Linkages.
Soft Skills &
- Languages
- Languages: Intermediate-to-Advanced English proficiency (must be capable of participating confidently in technical meetings).
- Core Competencies: Proactive attitude, strong problem-solving capabilities, excellent communication skills, and self-driven to succeed in a remote work environment.
