The
EHS Coordinator reports directly to the
Engineering Manager and is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by maintaining compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations. This role partners with all departments to promote a strong safety culture through accident investigations, employee training, hazardous chemical and waste management, and support for government inspections and regulatory audits.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field (preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong working knowledge of EHS regulations, ergonomics, and hazardous waste management.
- Experience conducting accident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Proven ability to deliver training, coordinate audits, and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Results-oriented, self-motivated,
and capable of leading emergency response initiatives.
- Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the annual EHS program and maintain OEA/AEO certification.
- Coordinate regulatory audits, inspections, and compliance activities with government agencies, including SEMA, STPS, SEMARNAT, and Civil Protection.
- Lead accident investigations and develop preventive safety initiatives.
- Manage hazardous and special waste in compliance with applicable environmental regulations.
- Develop and implement safe work procedures and EHS training programs.
- Coordinate Safety Committees, Emergency Response Teams, and regular safety talks.
- Conduct proactive internal EHS audits and ensure timely follow-up on corrective and preventive action plans.
