Bachelor's Degree Mechanical Engineering. Bachelor's Degree Mechatronic Engineering. Bachelor's Degree Aerospace Engineering. 3 years of experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Position Purpose

The Stress group at Gulfstream is responsible for substantiating structural integrity for all engineering changes in Gulfstream models.This is accomplished by performing detailed stress analysis using both finite element modeling (FEM) and hand calculations.Knowledge in design configuration, load paths, mechanical properties, FAR Part 25 regulations and diverse analysis techniques is required. to substantiate aircraft structure.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

- Stress engineers perform analysis and document certification stress reports summarizing all calculations and critical margins of safety .
- Technical support is provided to diverse engineering groups throughout entire design and operation build processes .
- Stress engineer is responsible for ensuring that all structural analysis and rationale used in design changes that require Stress signature meets Gulfstream stress criteria and FAA regulations .
- The Senior Level V Stress engineer performs Stress Checks for the aircraft interior structural substantiation reports, stress reports and design substantiations .
- Provides design solutions for new custom engineering for the design team, mentoring and feedback to the stress team.

Additional Functions:




- Recieves support from Stress Engineer IV and V .
- Provides Support to Engineer I and II .
- Supports the Workflows process and Supermarket Carcass of medium complexity .
- Generates hand calculation Analysis .
- Generates medium complexity FEM .
- Generates Subsums reports .
- Generates Stress Reports. .

Perform other duties as assigned.

- Finite Element Modeling knowledge.
- (Patran/FEMAP).
- Travel availability required.
- Advanced English spoken and written, presentations and negotiations.
