Shift Details
As Needed – Days or Nights 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 PM.
Work Location
Crisis – Ellendale RRC, 700 Main St., Ellendale DE 19947.
Compensation
$18.00/hour without certificate; $21.00/hour with Delaware Certificate.

- Peer Employment Training certification required.
Summary of Job
The Peer Support Specialist I provides support and recovery training to individuals receiving services, assists in creating a recovery environment, and advocates for individual rights.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Guest Care & Advocacy: Provides peer support, engages individuals, identifies hopes and dreams, teaches recovery and life skills, models hope and self‑advocacy, assists in developing natural supports, cultivates connectedness.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Completes clinical documentation, keeps abreast of regulations, adheres to compliance standards and conflict‑of‑interest policies.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Coordinates with the clinical team and other supports to arrange services or resources.
- Additional Duties: Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Peer Employment Training certification required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Lived experience requiring mental health and/or substance use services.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to teach and train recovery information and tools.
- Effective communication skills.
- Must pass state‑defined de‑escalation training.
- Driving: Meets Recovery Innovations driving policy; otherwise sign Non‑Driver Attestation.
- At least 18 years old.
- Travel may be required.
- Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and professional standards.
