A Day In The Life
The Senior Organic Search Strategist’s role is to create and execute on custom Organic Search strategies that align with the client’s KPIs using all aspects of Organic Search including on-page SEO, technical SEO, off-page SEO elements and informational SEO Content. He/She is a great communicator who can explain SEO and SEO Content strategies to various clients ranging from C-levels, non-marketing POCs to SEO experts. He/She explains the “why” behind the strategy in order to get strong buy-in from the client for speedy implementation. He/She is a problem solver who pivots their strategy based on account performance leveraging both transactional/lead gen pages as well as article content when needed. He/She is constantly learning about updates to Google’s algorithm and brainstorming new strategies to move the needle for clients. He/She is a strong internal communicator who also mentors & coaches junior team members to grow their own skill sets.

Responsibilities

Advanced understanding of all aspects of organic search including on-page, technical, off-page, and SEO content. Work autonomously to think outside the box and craft custom organic search strategy as needed to help clients hit their goals

Knowledge of recent algorithm updates, ranking factors, and industry best practices

Excellent storyteller: Able to explain organic search performance, how it assisted other channels in the funnel, how it affects the client's business, and recommended next steps

Advanced knowledge in using analytical tools necessary for SEO performance and reporting including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMRush, AHREFs, Moz, Screaming Frog, & others

Strong time management & organization skills

Comfortable setting expectations & pushing back on strategy with clients when needed

Strong presentation skills to tailor messages to audiences, communicate complex topics simply, and deliver actionable insights and analyses. Can clearly communicate how articles/blog helps support bottom of funnel pages to get client buy-in on top/middle of funnel content

Problem solves performance & strategy challenges

Creation of clear, strategic short term & long term roadmaps to accomplish client's goals

Handles client challenges related to the channel. Proactively finds solutions, and builds organic search Blueprints and Schedules. Manages accounts with the highest workflow volume or complexity with positive feedback (mix between enterprise, growth and core accounts)

Thinks beyond PDM existing organic search deliverables to move the needle





Establish organic search goals & forecasts for any scenario (and knows when to adapt or re-forecast as needed)

Ability to delegate with clear direction. Proactively identify workflow that can be executed by support resources

Leads trainings and plays an active role in team member development within department

Successful at rapport building to help establish client trust as organic search authority

Present new SEO and content strategies to help the organic search offering continue to grow

Identifying content gaps, aligning content efforts with priority business focuses and core SEO pages, and proposing new content strategies

Consistently identifies cross-channel strategies/collaborations on accounts to improve performance

Consistently hits channel's goal across all accounts or recommends strategic pivots to increase channel's performance

100% completion of Power Digital processes each week (Asana, Slack, novaPulse, etc.)

Sufficient QA that results in no errors that would yield a negative impact to revenue for clients

Power Circuit Completion / Adoption

On time for all deliverables & launches

Employ AI technologies to enhance and optimize business processes

Utilize and leverage Power Digital's Nova ecosystem as it relates to your department

Role Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in an SEO-based role

Advanced understanding of all aspects of organic search including on-page, technical, off-page, and SEO Content. Aligning SEO and Content efforts with priority business focuses. Work autonomously to think outside the box and craft custom organic search strategies as needed to help clients achieve their goals in an attempt to maintain client retention

Advanced knowledge and experience using analytical tools necessary for SEO performance and reporting including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMRush, AHREFs, Moz, Screaming Frog, & others. Keeping up with industry best practices and changing SERP landscape

Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback to team members who are supporting on accounts. Bonus if you have experience training other team members.

Strong time management and organizational skills when it comes to roadmapping strategy, planning deliverables, delegating tasks,



and reviewing tasks

Proactive & solution oriented problem solver related to both client accounts and internal situations. You have a team-player mentality

Excellent storyteller with strong presentation skills to tailor messages to audiences, communicate complex topics simply, and deliver actionable insights and analyses

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Client Book Revenue per Employee: $34k

Client Retention Rate: 90%

Range of the number of accounts (5-10)

Team Retention (of DRs if applicable): 90%

Most Important Things (MITs)

Independently execute on 100% of the standard/set SEO and content deliverables (not inclusive of Elevated Link Building and Technical SEO)

Clear, professional and confident communication & client comprehension that explains the “why” behind Organic Search reports & ties Organic Search to the full funnel

Always hitting deadlines in regards to client workflow with minimal errors (no typos, grammatical issues) and strong attention to detail with minimal review from AM/AD
