The Opportunity As a Backend Engineer, you'll be instrumental in architecting and developing the core systems that power our innovative legal platform. You'll work alongside a talented founding engineering team, building scalable solutions that tackle complex industry challenges.
What You'll Do Architect scalable systems Design and implement high-performance backend infrastructure using Python, Go, Rust, and WebAssembly
Build cloud-native solutions Leverage AWS services including Amplify, LightSail, and Fargate to create robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure
Manage data architecture Work across diverse database technologies including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and vector databases
Drive product impact Collaborate directly with the founding engineering team to ship high-impact features that delight users
Shape the vision Contribute to product strategy and technical direction as an early team member with substantial influence
What We're Looking For Strong proficiency in backend development with Python, Go, or Rust
Experience building and deploying systems on AWS infrastructure
Solid understanding of both relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases
Passion for writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code




Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving priorities
Excellent problem-solving skills and technical communication
Enthusiasm for tackling complex problems in the legal tech space
Bonus Points Experience with WebAssembly
Familiarity with vector databases
Previous startup or early-stage company experience
Interest in legal technology or regulatory compliance
Track record of shipping products from zero to one
