essential duties and responsibilities
financial planning & analysis
- prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts for mexico operations.
- analyze presente financial results against budget, forecast, and prior-year performance, identifying key drivers and trends.
- develop financial models to support strategic business decisions, capital investments, pricing strategies, and operational initiatives.
- partner with business leaders to establish budgets, performance targets, and key financial objectives.
- support long-range planning and annual budgeting processes.
business performance analysis
- monitor key performance indicators (kpis) related to revenue, profitability, labor, inventory, operating expenses, and working capital.
- provide actionable recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
- conduct variance analyses and prepare executive-level reporting packages for leadership review.
- evaluate financial impacts of new business opportunities, acquisitions, expansions, and process improvements.
cross-border financial support
- serve as the primary finance liaison for mexico-based operations and leadership teams.
- analyze foreign exchange (fx) impacts and assist with currency-related financial planning.
- ensure alignment of financial reporting between u.s. and mexico business entities.
- collaborate with accounting teams to support month-end close activities and ensure financial accuracy.
- assist with transfer pricing analyses and intercompany financial transactions as needed.
reporting & compliance
- develop and maintain financial dashboards, management reports, and executive presentations.
- ensure compliance with company financial policies and applicable accounting standards.
- support internal and external audit requests by providing financial analyses and supporting documentation.
- identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes, controls, and system efficiencies.
strategic partnership
- build strong relationships with operational leaders to provide financial guidance and business insights.
- present financial findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
- participate in special projects, strategic initiatives, and ad hoc analyses as assigned.
qualifications
education
- bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or a related field required.
- mba, cpa, cma, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
experience
- 5+ years of progressive financial analysis, fp&a;, corporate finance, or business analytics experience.
- experience supporting operations in mexico or latin america strongly preferred.
- experience within a multi-location, manufacturing, distribution, transportation, automotive, or industrial environment preferred.
- experience working within multinational organizations and cross-border business operations.
knowledge, skills, and abilities
- advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting skills.
- strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and business performance metrics.
- proficiency in microsoft excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling.
- experience with erp systems and business intelligence tools (power bi, tableau, or similar preferred).
- strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial audiences.
- ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- bilingual english and spanish preferred.
