Position: Software Asset Manager
Location: Mexico (Remote)
Employment Type: Full-Time (FTE) About the Role
We are seeking a Software Asset Manager to oversee and optimize enterprise software assets across the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring software license compliance, managing software inventories, supporting procurement activities, and identifying cost-saving opportunities through effective Software Asset Management (SAM) practices.
The ideal candidate has experience working with enterprise software publishers such as Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, and SAP, along with expertise in ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera, software licensing models, and vendor management. Key Responsibilities
Maintain an accurate inventory of all enterprise software assets, including licenses, installations, versions, and entitlements.
Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and manage renewals, audits, and vendor obligations.
Partner with Procurement and Finance teams to support software purchasing, invoicing, billing, and contract management.
Monitor software utilization to identify underused licenses and recommend cost optimization opportunities.
Develop, maintain, and enforce Software Asset Management (SAM) policies, standards, and procedures.
Generate reports on software compliance, license utilization, risks, and cost savings.
Manage relationships with major software vendors and oversee licensing agreements.
Coordinate software asset audits and ensure publisher audit readiness.
Review service commitments, KPIs, and operational metrics related to software assets.
Conduct pre-audits and validate reports related to software inventory and compliance.
Identify policy violations, licensing risks, and process gaps while driving corrective actions.
Provide guidance and training to internal teams on software asset management best practices.
Support governance initiatives to minimize compliance risks and improve operational efficiency.
Required
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM) or a related IT Asset Management role.
Strong understanding of software licensing models, compliance, and governance.
Experience managing enterprise software from Tier 1 vendors, including:
Microsoft
Adobe
Oracle
SAP
Experience with cloud-based software licensing and subscription models.
Proven experience identifying license optimization and software cost-saving opportunities.
Experience supporting software license audits and publisher compliance programs.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
