role summary

we are seeking an experienced controller to join our expanding team, leading the month-end close process and ensuring accurate, high-quality financial reporting for our e-commerce clients.

this role requires an accounting and finance professional who is adept at leveraging technology to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and provide insightful financial management. The adecuado candidate combines a strong accounting foundation with hands-on financial management experience—including cash flow visibility, working capital analysis, and fp&a; support—along with strong leadership skills and the executive presence to confidently partner with cfos, founders, and clients.

✅ key responsibilities

- lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting by the 5th business day of each month.
- support cash flow visibility and working capital analysis while partnering with cfos on budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.
- build trusted relationships with clients, providing financial insights that support business decision-making.
- drive the adoption of ai, automation, and technology to improve accounting and financial reporting processes.
- design,



standardize, and continuously improve accounting processes, internal controls, and workflows across multiple clients.
- supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accountants, providing ongoing coaching, feedback, and technical guidance.
- support the implementation of new systems, tools, and scalable financial processes.
- maintain proactive communication with clients, cfos, and internal teams to ensure exceptional service and collaboration.

requirements

- 10+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or controllership roles.
- strong background in accounting and finance, with a proven track record in financial management.
- strong knowledge of month-end close, financial reporting, fp&a;, and us gaap.
- experience reporting directly to cfos or ceos.
- experience with inventory accounting, ideally within manufacturing, cpg, or e-commerce environments.
- experience building or improving accounting processes in fast-paced, high-growth companies.
- strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills, with the confidence to interact with executive stakeholders.
- passion for technology, ai, and automation, with a proactive mindset toward continuous improvement.

nice to have

- cpa license
- previous experience in a big 4 accounting firm is highly preferred.
- experience with quickbooks online or other cloud-based erp systems.
- experience working with multiple entities or client portfolios.
- background in fintech or other high-growth industries.
