KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage and grow an assigned book of institutional clients, serving as their primary point of contact for trade execution, market color, and investment ideas.
- Execute buy and sell orders on behalf of institutional clients across fixed income, money market, equity, and FX instruments, in strict adherence to best-execution practices.
- Proactively identify and pursue new institutional relationships to expand assets under custody/administration and trading volumes.
- Monitor domestic and international markets (Banxico policy, rates, FX, macroeconomic indicators) to generate timely, relevant trade ideas for clients.
- Coordinate with Mesa de Dinero, research/analysis, operations, and settlement teams to ensure accurate, timely trade booking and confirmation.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, trade rationale, and portfolio positioning in accordance with Altor's internal policies and CNBV/AMIB requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with LMV, CUCB, AMIB self-regulatory rules, and Altor's internal PLD/FT, Know-Your-Client, and suitability policies for every transaction.
- Support pricing, risk assessment, and P&L; tracking for the assigned book in coordination with Risk Management and Middle Office.
- Prepare periodic portfolio and activity reports for clients and for internal management review.
- Represent Altor professionally in client meetings, market events, and industry forums to strengthen institutional relationships and the firm's market presence.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Actuarial Science,
or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in institutional sales and/or trading within a casa de bolsa, banco, or asset management firm, with a demonstrated, transferable book of institutional clients.
- Proven track record of client retention and revenue/volume growth in a sales-trading capacity.
- Strong working knowledge of Mexican fixed income and money market instruments (CETES, Bondes, Udibonos, papel bancario/corporativo, reportos) and general familiarity with equities, FX, and derivatives.
- Current, valid AMIB certification(s) required for the role (e.g., Operador / Promotor de Mesa de Dinero); willingness to maintain ongoing regulatory certifications.
- Solid understanding of the Mexican regulatory framework: LMV, CUCB, AMIB self-regulatory provisions, and PLD/FT (anti-money laundering) obligations applicable to broker-dealers.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES • Excellent negotiation, relationship-management, and client-facing communication skills.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills; comfort working under time pressure in a fast-moving market environment.
- High personal integrity and sound judgment; strict adherence to compliance, suitability, and best-execution standards.
- Proficiency with trading/execution platforms, Bloomberg/Reuters terminals, and MS Excel.
- Bilingual: fluent Spanish and professional-level English (written and spoken), given exposure to international counterparties.
- Resilience, self-motivation, and a results-oriented approach to business development.
