Position Summary
The ServiceNow Senior Developer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of solutions within the ServiceNow platform. This role involves advanced customization, integration, and maintenance of the ServiceNow environment to ensure optimal performance and alignment with business requirements.
Primary Accountabilities
- ServiceNow Development and Customization
- Design, develop, and implement complex solutions, including custom applications, workflows, integrations, and automations.
- Perform advanced customization of UI policies, client scripts, business rules, and script includes.
- Develop and maintain integrations with other enterprise systems using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, and other methods.
- Ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to ServiceNow best practices and coding standards.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications and integrations.
- Technical Leadership
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain quality and consistency.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of ServiceNow development standards and best practices.
- Stay up‑to‑date on the latest ServiceNow features, releases, and technologies.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with business analysts, stakeholders, and IT teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, weekly stand‑ups, and sprint reviews.
- Operational Support
- Provide support for ServiceNow requests, incidents, changes, and problems.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor performance and identify areas for optimization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in ServiceNow development and implementation.
- Strong architectural understanding of Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and Service Portfolio Management (SPM).
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other web technologies.
- Experience with ServiceNow APIs and integration methods.
- Expertise in implementing and optimizing ITIL‑aligned processes.
- Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Specific Technical Skills Needed
- Experience in ITOM or ITAM (HAM and SAM) implementation.
- Extensive experience with ServiceNow scripting, workflows, and integrations.
- ServiceNow Administration and new application implementation.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow Security and Access Control (ACLs / Roles).
