Job Description:
**Job Overview**
Leads small and medium sized projects and manages the technical elements.
**Job Requirements**
+ Using best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products/services or processes.
+ Working independently to solve problems where precedents may not exist and providing new perspective on existing solutions.
+ Training or mentoring junior staff or new members and providing inputs on performance expectations.
+ Aiding project management responsibilities in absence of the team leader/ project manager.
**What your background should look like**
**Education and Experience Requirements**
• BS degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial or related engineering• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required
• +5 years of experience as ME.
• Knowledge of TEOA, SPC, Six Sigma and other improvement techniques is preffered
• Working under pressure
• Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering experience within a manufacturing plant is preferred
• Creativity to explore new ideas and new technologies to product quality product in a cost-effective manner is essential.
**Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities**
**Primary Responsibilities**
• Continuous improvement efforts and drive production efficiency initiatives
• Support varied manufacturing projects, including process improvements and cost reduction activities
• Support and practice Lean / TEOA initiatives
• Plan equipment layout, workflow, and accident prevention measures to maximize efficiency and maintain safe utilization of plant facilities
• Validate original cost estimates to vigente costs for launched programs
• Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards and recommend tooling and process requirements and improvements
• Maintain records and systems for coordinating manufacturing operations
• Design both simple and complex tools, gages, and fixtures to support production
• Initiate root cause analysis and perform mistake proofing.
• Effectively support the production floor as needed.
• Successfully train operators in proper methods and usage of tooling, fixtures and machines.
• Perform time studies, line balance and eliminate non-value added operations
