Job DescriptionWho will you be working with?
Our best-in-class Electric Rotating Machines Engineering team develops a wide variety of products for rail, off-highway and drill applications.In this role, the Lead Mechanical Engineer will work with a cross-functional team to design and develop electric machines, as well as maintaining and expanding on the existing products.How will you make a difference?
As a member of the Electric Rotating Machines team, you will be responsible for design, testing, application studies, field support, manufacturing support, and innovation on a variety of machine topologies.In this role you will train under experienced engineers on application specifics, work within defined parameters to make decisions and apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity while resolving issues through immediate action or short-term planning.You will be responsible for motors and alternator mechanical design and work with cross functional teams to meet assigned objectives.What will your typical day look like?
Execute the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies, or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirementsPrepare and present technical data to internal and external customersParticipate and work with general teams on projects assigned to address specific organizational initiativesValidate new components and subassemblies, author & release of drawings and specificationsGenerate engineering documents (DFMEA, Design Review materials, Purchase Specs, meeting notes, technical visuals and presentations, etc.)Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards,



practices, procedures, and product / program requirementsDocument and communicate results of technical data generated consistent with engineering policies and proceduresParticipate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviewsTake initiative and lead on new product introduction, reliability, productivityWhat about the physical demands of the job?
Ability to work in engineering lab and workshops as well as office environmentAbility to stand/walk for 8 hour periodOccasionally bend; stoop; and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

QualificationsWhat do we want to know about you?
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience with hardware design (i.e., motors, transformers, etc.)Experience with rotating equipment (alternators,
