ResponsibilitiesEffectively use personnel, material, and equipment to meet production cost schedules and maintain quality requirements.Participate in the development, training, and evaluation of hourly team members, building highly effective teams.Lead General Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes and support launch and pilot activities in assigned areas.Communicate department quality goals, maintain awareness of quality standards, and leverage resources to solve quality issues.Build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union and management; understand and administer National and Local Agreements between GM and the UAW.Implement and follow systems that prevent recurrence of known issues; promote safe work practices and achieve ergonomics, health, safety, and housekeeping objectives.Motivate, train, and develop employees to effectively perform jobs using standardized methods; ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training).
Apply lean manufacturing/synchronous principles to achieve production schedules, product requirements, variation reduction, cost control, and productivity improvements.Coach, teach, counsel, and mentor Group Leaders in their responsibilities.Work ConditionsThis position requires working on site on a full-time basis.
Working hours are 4x3 shift schedule.
Location is onsite at a specific GM facility.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in an engineering field.Intermediate English proficiency.Ability to receive a reasonable accommodation if needed.Additional InformationGM does not provide immigration‐related sponsorship for this role.
