Job Description
Fairmont is seeking an experienced, strategic, and highly motivated Senior Area Sales Manager to support the commercial efforts of three luxury resorts within the Mexico & Caribbean region: Fairmont Mayakoba, Fairmont El San Juan Hotel, and Fairmont Royal Pavilion.
This role will be based remotely in the United States, with Fairmont Mayakoba serving as the home property, while maintaining clear responsibility for generating business across all three hotels.
The Senior Area Sales Manager will focus on new business development, account management, prospecting, and revenue generation across key market segments, with a strong emphasis on group, incentive, corporate, and third‐party business.
This is a highly strategic sales role requiring a strong background in luxury hospitality, proactive selling, relationship‐driven account management, and regional collaboration.
The idóneo candidate will be comfortable representing multiple properties, balancing competing priorities, and partnering closely with regional and on‐property leadership to drive revenue, expand market share, and identify opportunities across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Generation
Represent Fairmont Mayakoba, Fairmont El San Juan Hotel, and Fairmont Royal Pavilion in the marketplace and actively solicit new business opportunities across assigned market segments.
Drive revenue production through proactive prospecting, account development, client engagement, and strategic relationship management across all three hotels.
Maintain, grow, and strategically develop key accounts while aggressively pursuing new business opportunities that align with each hotel's revenue goals and requiring periods.
Build and execute monthly action plans designed to drive room night production, revenue growth, and market share across the region.
Exceed individual production goals and activity targets as established by the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing.
Conduct proactive sales calls, virtual presentations, client entertainment, site inspections, and business development trips as needed.
Participate in trade shows, industry events, sales missions, client events, and FAM trips in support of regional sales efforts.
Identify opportunities to cross‐sell the three properties and maximize regional account production where appropriate.
Market Segment & Account Management
Manage a portfolio of existing and prospect accounts across a variety of segments, which may include group, incentive, corporate, association, and third‐party/intermediary business.
Develop strong relationships with key decision‐makers, planners, and partners to drive long‐term account growth and increase market share across the portfolio.
Partner closely with on‐property sales teams to ensure a coordinated and strategic approach to account management and business development.
Maintain accurate account, activity, and pipeline information within the hotel's CRM / sales systems.
Provide regular updates on account activity, market intelligence, production, and business opportunities.
Regional Commercial Collaboration
Partner closely with the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing, hotel DOSMs, revenue leaders, and marketing teams to ensure alignment on sales strategy, need periods, and business priorities.
Support each hotel's revenue goals through disciplined prospecting, account management, and conversion efforts.
Participate in regular regional pipeline, forecast, and strategy discussions.
Identify new business opportunities that support the broader commercial platform across the Mexico & Caribbean region.
Serve as a regional ambassador for the three properties, ensuring consistent representation of each hotel in the marketplace.
Administrative & Operational Responsibilities
Prepare monthly production reports, action plans, and account updates as requested.
Ensure all business opportunities are qualified appropriately and managed in accordance with hotel policies and commercial strategy.
Maintain a high level of professionalism, responsiveness, and luxury service standards in all client and internal interactions.
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of hotel sales experience, preferably within luxury hospitality
Proven experience driving new business development, prospecting, and account management
Experience selling group, incentive, corporate, or third‐party business
Prior experience representing multiple hotels, regions, or brands is strongly preferred
Strong understanding of luxury hospitality sales and the ability to position multiple resorts within a competitive marketplace
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast‐paced environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience with Opera, Delphi / Salesforce / CRM systems, and Microsoft Office preferred
Experience negotiating and executing contracts and related agreements
Bachelor's degree or Hotel Management degree/diploma preferred
Travel Requirements
This role is remote and based in the United States; however, regular travel will be required in support of Fairmont Mayakoba, Fairmont El San Juan Hotel, and Fairmont Royal Pavilion.
Travel may include client visits, site inspections, trade shows, sales missions, FAM trips, and on‐property meetings.
Candidate must be able to travel domestically and internationally as business needs.
