Key Responsibilities
Own and deliver the operational budget for the whole SC, including safety, productivity, financial planning, labor planning, and operational goals
Provide strategic level/long‐term planning (3, 6, 12 months and 3 Yr overview)
Guide building culture according to leadership principles
Set clear goals and expectations for Operations and Area Managers
Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold leaders accountable
Drive creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other Lean initiatives to enable their functional area and ultimately the SC to meet and exceed the business plan
Take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and among the network
Work closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Site Leaders/General Managers) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives, as well as providing needed support and resources for other network initiatives
A Day in the Life
You'll be based at one of our operational sites.
Spending lots of time on site will help you develop your team and collaborate on operational planning.
This role has two sides.
You'll manage and motivate a team of leaders.
At the same time, you'll focus on long‐term objectives.
This includes creating contingency plans to keep operations running and mitigate against disruptions and driving initiatives that boost quality, safety and productivity.
You'll be a source of accountability and a business‐wide champion of best practice.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
Work a versátil schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
3+ years of employee and performance management experience
Experience in a people management role managing at least 2‐3 managers and indirectly 50+ people
Speak, write, and read fluently in English, and have the ability to take direction in English
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
