The HSE&C; Advisor provides expertise to ensure that Health, Safety, Environment and Carbon (HSE&C;) risks within the performing unit (PU) are identified, assessed and effectively managed. They will provide support and expertise to drive compliance with regulatory, legislative and bp requirements for Castrol Americas operations within Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and South America.
The Advisor will intervene, investigate incidents, and escalate opportunities for improvement with HSE&C; performance and/or operating management system (OMS) conformance.
They will drive consistency and a common approach to reduce safety risk, and add value to Castrol, providing optimum performance in service of the HSE&C; agenda. They will also contribute to the development of fit for purpose HSE&C; plans, policies and programmes.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Implementation of the HSE&C; plan to ensure delivery of the general Castrol HSE&C; strategy.
- Enables safe, reliable and compliant operations.
- Drives HSE&C; performance through lagging and leading indicators and continuous improvement of HSE&C; operating discipline.
- Drives compliance with all applicable HSE&C; legislation and ensures the consequences of non-compliance are understood.
- Supports leaders across Castrol Latin America to ensure they have the competence to fulfil their HSE&C; accountabilities.
- Builds enduring capability in HSE&C; across Castrol Latin America frontline operations to ensure workforce competence to deliver their HSE&C; accountabilities.
- Ensures that HSE&C; risks are incorporated into the decision-making process with respect to operational activities and events, in particular identifying and recommending mitigations for key HSE&C; risks.
- Supports leaders to implement the HSE&C; systems, processes and tools necessary to deliver the OMS, HSE&C; policies and standards, and group defined practices (GDPs) including control of work (CoW), HSE&C; risk, Crisis and Continuity Management (C&CM;), etc.
- Implements fit for purpose HSE&C; processes including annual risk endorsement, risk management, incident classification, reporting and investigation, to meet regulatory and bp requirements.
- Provides support to ensure conformance with external HSE management standards, such as ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and any relevant industry standards (e.g. IATF).
- Proactively influences leaders and directs activities to support HSE&C; employee and stakeholder communications and HSE&C; awareness.
**Education and Experience**
- University degree (or equivalent work experience). Formal HSE&C; qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma)
- Significant experience in operational safety,
risk management and regulatory compliance in HSE&C; or operational roles with substantial HSE&C; accountabilities.
- Deep HSE&C; knowledge within an international business environment, strong generalist HSE&C; background and experience including knowledge of sales and customer site operational and technical environments; proven ability to think both operationally and strategically.
**Fluency in Spanish, English and Brazilian Portuguese**

bp operates in a hybrid model working 60% from the office and 40% from home.
