**Title**: Senior MongoDB Administrator
**Location**: Remote, Mexico (Mexico residency is mandatory)
**Engagement Type**: Full-time (40 hours/week)
**Engagement Length**: 12+ months (long-term position with opportunities for growth)
**Overview**
**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage MongoDB databases in production, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
- Conduct performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization for seamless database operations.
- Implement and manage data replication, backup, and recovery strategies for high availability.
- Secure databases by enforcing best practices in user access control and encryption.
- Automate deployment and configuration using tools like **Ansible** and **Terraform**.
- Monitor database health using tools such as **Grafana**, **Prometheus**, or **MongoDB Ops Manager**.
- Design and implement robust data models and schemas to meet business requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues efficiently.
**Required Qualifications**
- **5+ years of experience** managing MongoDB databases in production environments.
- Proven expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing in MongoDB.
- Deep understanding of high-availability strategies, including replication, backup, and recovery.
- Strong knowledge of MongoDB security best practices, including encryption and user access controls.




- Proficiency with automation tools (e.g., **Ansible**, **Terraform**) for database operations.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring tools like **Grafana**, **Prometheus**, or **MongoDB Ops Manager**.
- Solid understanding of MongoDB data modeling and schema design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- MongoDB Certification (e.g., MongoDB Certified DBA).
- Experience with other NoSQL databases like **Cassandra** or **Redis**.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like **AWS** and their database management offerings.
- Knowledge of **DevOps practices**, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
