Change.org is looking for a talented and motivated **Senior Software Engineer**to join our** Signature Growth team**. This team is responsible for increasing the number of signatures on petitions by optimizing sharing behavior and engagement across the platform. You will work on projects that directly impact our most important business metrics by improving how users share and spread petitions.
We're a social impact business (a public benefit company), and the world's largest social change platform, with 100 million monthly users, over 40,000 campaigns launched on the site every month, and a 100% user-generated, profitable revenue model. Our users win campaigns for change once every hour. In the last decade in Mexico, from the mobilization against the Maya train to the campaign to increase vacation days, many nationwide movements were created on Change.org. From the campaign Cáncer Warriors to ask for the release of the elephant Eli, dozens of local, national and international victories are happening every day thanks to the power of our users who are changing our country.

- **Growth Optimization**: Develop and optimize features that encourage more shares and more effective shares, increasing Change.org's virality factor.
- **Share Experience Enhancement**:Improve share surfaces across multiple user touchpoints, including post-sign flows, supporter engagement flows, and account views.
- **New Engagement Opportunities**: Contribute to new sharing experiences, such as new roles, personalization, and expanded share channels (e.g., TikTok, YouTube, Discord).
- **Cross-Functional Collaboration**:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create a cohesive, scalable system for petition sharing and engagement.

**Technical Skills**:
- Strong full-stack development experience,



with a focus on scalable and high-performance systems.
- Expertise in frontend technologies like React, JavaScript, and TypeScript, ensuring seamless user experiences.
- Proficiency in backend development using Node.js, TypeScript, and/or Rails, with a solid understanding of database design and query optimization.
- Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of growth engineering principles, including A/B testing, experimentation frameworks, and analytics tracking.
**Planning & Execution**:
- Deconstruct projects and problems into a well-defined action plan, and be responsible for delivering seamless integration of the solutions with the current systems
- Identify and fill gaps in system requirements so they align with team goals and business objectives.
- Maintain own priorities and make appropriate progress proactively, balancing technical debt and immediate business needs.
- Ability to navigate through a problem to identify dependencies and propose solutions
**Architecture & Design, Performance**:
- Familiarity with software instrumentation, analytics, and experimentation frameworks.
- Be a driver for system and software quality, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
- Influence architectural decisions that drive high-performance, scalable, and resilient software solutions in a collaborative environment.
**Collaboration & Communication**:




- Work closely with Product, Design, Analytics, and QA teams to align technical execution with business goals.
- Clearly articulate technical solutions and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Advocate for best practices in software development, security, and performance optimization.
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative team environment that encourages diverse perspectives and continuous learning.
- Maintain proactive and adaptable conversations with team members and other stakeholders focused on solutions based on your engineering expertise
**Target Experience**:
- 4-6+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in a growth or engagement-focused role.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, and GraphQL in production environments.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in at least one backend framework used at Change.org, such as Node.js, Rails, or Elixir.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies, including Terraform, Kubernetes, and AWS, to ensure scalable and secure system architecture.
- Experience working on growth-related projects, such as virality, social sharing, engagement loops, or referral programs.
- Experience with A/B testing frameworks and data-driven decision-making.
- English fluency (Minimum B2)
