**Position Description**: Mechanical Design Engineer
**General Description**:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer will be required to meet with engineering team and directors to determine their design requirements, plan and execute the design of mechanical devices, develop and test prototypes, and work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure that design specifications are met. Should be mathematically and mechanically minded and have strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. A top-notch mechanical design engineer should possess detailed knowledge of engineering and design principles and be able to find creative solutions to technical problems.
**Responsibilities**:
- Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products
- Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs
- Generate working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstration
- Perform engineering calculations to support design work
- Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software. Planning and executing mechanical designs using Solidworks and 3D CAD programs.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors
- Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process
- Conducting research to inform the design and engineering methods required for the mechanical systems.
- Performing computer simulations and experiments to virtually test and refine the designs.
- Overseeing the development and manufacturing of physical prototypes for testing.
- Documenting the design process, iterations, and test analytics.
- Managing project timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Liaising with clients, designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence.
- Preparing technical reports,



design specifications documents, and operational manuals.
- Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering best practices.
- Ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget
- Assisting with recruitment, training, and onboarding.
- Ensuring a safe, positive work environment.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or in a related field
- Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience desiging mechanical systems and products
- Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar
- Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Must be self-motivated and a great team worker
- Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- Attentive to detail and critically minded.
- The ability to stay abreast of advancements in technology and engineering design trends.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Excellent motivational skills and multitasking abilities.
**Indispensable**:
- English language needed, (Chinese, optional).
- US Visa is a plus.
