We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Production Manager to oversee its manufacturing operations in Mexico.
Following this phase the Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient start up production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, and leading a team to achieve operational excellence. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to manage complex manufacturing processes and lead and collaborate with the whole production team.
- **Key Responsibilities**:_
**1. Communication and Reporting**:
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, including senior management, team members, and contractors.
- Provide regular progress reports, highlighting key milestones, potential risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all decommissioning, transportation, and recommissioning activities comply with safety standards and regulations.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect employees and equipment.
**2. Leadership and Management**:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize production efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure high-quality output.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Develop, acquire and build the winning team required to effectively best practice run and grow the operation.
**3. Production Oversight**:
- Oversee the entire manufacturing process, including raw material preparation, mixing, extrusion, lamination, corrugation, printing, die-cutting, gluing, packing, recycling, and shipping.
- Ensure all production targets are met within the specified timelines and budget.
- Monitor production KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed.




- Develop and implement a continuous improvement philosophy and implement the program with key members of the team.
**4. Quality Control**:
- Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure all products meet or exceed customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular quality audits and manage non-conformance issues promptly.
**5. Raw Material Management**:
- Manage the procurement and inventory of raw materials, including HDPE resin, calcium carbonate, and recycled pellets.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to maintain their integrity and quality.
**6. Team Development**:
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing production team.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and feedback to staff.
- Promote a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
**7. Process Improvement**:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements to keep the plant operations competitive.
**8. Equipment Maintenance**:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all manufacturing equipment, including extruders, laminators, corrugators, printers, die-cutters, gluing machines, and packaging machines.
- Develop and manage a preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime.
- **9. Compliance and Safety**:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state,



and federal regulations, including environmental, health, and safety standards.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- **Qualifications**:_
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in the plastics and/or corrugated packaging industry.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale manufacturing operations and leading teams.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including raw material preparation, extrusion, and lamination.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and manufacturing software.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) is preferred.
- Some corrugated or packaging experience is not essential but favourable.
- **Working Conditions**:_
- This position requires working in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to noise, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
- The Production Manager may be required to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet production demands.
- This position will require a high level of ownership and commitment to the business, the role, management and the team.
