A Day in the Life Join us as a Principal Facilities Engineer and lead strategic facilities initiatives that support critical business operations across our sites. In this highly visible role, you will oversee the planning, design, execution, and optimization of facility infrastructure, equipment, and building systems, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with operational and regulatory requirements. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced engineering leader to drive high-impact projects, influence key decisions, and contribute directly to operational excellence and business growth.
Responsibilities Plans, designs and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities.
Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility.
Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings.
Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition.
Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment,
installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.
Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Master’s degree or Doctoral degree preferred.
Tridium/Niagara Building Automation System certification preferred.
Advanced English proficiency.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in facility mechanical infrastructure, electrical infrastructure, and building automation systems.
Experience working in Facilities within the medical device industry.
Experience supporting the design and construction of clean rooms, chiller plants, and compressed air plants.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, electrical, building automation, and plumbing systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical schematics.
Experience with integrated building solutions, including temperature control, critical environment monitoring, power management and alarming, zoned lighting control, and facility access control.
Familiarity with automation protocols, including Modbus, BACnet, and Lon Works.
