Overview

Job Summary: This position is responsible for the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of servers, systems, and applications that support Insulet’s corporate and manufacturing operations, including VMware, Linux, and Microsoft technologies. The Systems Administrator serves as the primary liaison and system administrator for all Insulet systems and collaborates with general corporate systems and networking teams to ensure compute, backup, storage, and networking operate optimally to achieve production goals.

Responsibilities

- Monitor and respond to incoming support tickets (ServiceNow) to ensure IT systems operate as expected and end-user experience is optimal.
- Manage VMware, Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat), and Microsoft Windows systems in a production data environment.
- Monitor and report on operating system and application performance.
- Create and maintain documentation on systems and processes.
- Maintain and repair infrastructure components under IT control in collaboration with vendors to provide high availability of services.
- Recommend and implement changes supported by evidence from performance analysis.
- Implement automation for repetitive tasks where possible.
- Work as an effective member of the global IT team with minimal supervision and complete changes and maintenance as required.

Required Skills and Competencies

- Task-oriented with strong attention to detail; self-motivated and proactive in staying current with new technologies.
- Experience with an enterprise ticketing system; ServiceNow experience is a plus.
- Ability to prioritize work and problem resolution using sound judgment.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation software and procedures.




- Experience managing Windows and Linux servers in a production data center environment.
- Understanding of networking technologies and their impact on servers and automated manufacturing.
- Project management capabilities and ability to communicate project requirements clearly.

Education and Experience

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of Microsoft Windows and/or Linux system administration, including Windows Server versions since 2012.
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and SQL Server.
- Experience with data backup, data retention, and disaster recovery exercises.
- Experience with VMware installation and maintenance.
- Experience in validated medical devices or FDA-regulated operations is a plus.
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and ISO is a plus.
- Ability to understand and communicate with a wide variety of people and work on multiple concurrent projects both as a lead and as a team member.

Additional Information

Note: This position is eligible for hybrid working arrangements and requires on-site work from an Insulet office at least 2–3 days per week.
