Responsibilities

The Senior Proxy Product Owner acts as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, Product Management, and delivery teams. This role ensures that product vision, business objectives, and customer needs are translated into clear, actionable requirements for development teams. The Senior Proxy Product Owner supports product strategy execution, manages the product backlog, drives prioritization decisions, and ensures successful delivery of business value in Agile environments.

The role typically operates on behalf of the Product Owner or Product Manager when direct day‑to‑day engagement is not possible, while maintaining alignment with strategic objectives, customer expectations, and organizational goals.

- Own and maintain the product backlog.




- Refine, prioritize, and organize user stories and features.
- Ensure backlog items are well‑defined and ready for development.
- Manage dependencies and identify risks affecting delivery.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
- Translate business needs into user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate requirements workshops with stakeholders.
- Ensure requirements are clear, complete, and testable.
- Act as the primary point of contact between business and delivery teams.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, Business Owners, and SMEs.
- Communicate priorities, status updates, risks, and dependencies.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and conflicting priorities.
- Participate in Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Support development teams with clarifications during implementation.
- Validate delivered functionality against business requirements.
- Assist in release planning and go‑live activities.
- Ensure delivered solutions meet business objectives.
- Review completed work and accept or reject stories based on acceptance criteria.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Collaborate with Product Management to understand product vision and roadmap.
- Support prioritization based on business value, risk, and customer impact.
- Recommend enhancements to improve customer experience and business outcomes.
