Overview
SSOE is seeking a motivated Junior Electrical Designer – Telecommunications to join our Advanced Technology Strategic Business Unit. This opportunity is adecuado for a detail-oriented designer interested in supporting the telecommunications infrastructure behind innovative, complex facilities. As part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you will use AutoCAD / Revit to transform engineering concepts and senior‑level markups into high-quality telecommunications design deliverables. You will work under the mentorship of experienced designers and engineers while expanding your knowledge of structured cabling, telecommunications pathways and spaces, system layouts, applicable codes, and BIM‑based design practices. The successful candidate will bring a strong willingness to learn, a commitment to accuracy, and an interest in building a long‑term career supporting cutting‑edge Advanced Technology projects.

Responsibilities
- Work on markups provided by higher‑level designers and engineers, using AutoCAD / Revit to develop, revise, and coordinate telecommunications design documents.
- Apply design fundamentals to total systems or subsystems, including telecommunications infrastructure, structured cabling, pathways, cable tray, conduit systems, telecommunications rooms, and associated equipment layouts, as applicable to the project.
- Perform a variety of routine design assignments, with increasing responsibility, under the direction of Senior Designers or Senior Engineers.
- Assist with the preparation of telecommunications design deliverables, which may include floor plans, pathway plans, cable tray layouts, equipment room layouts, riser diagrams, details, schedules, and installation documentation.
- Work from both own designs and designs of others, compile data, and perform routine design computations to support engineering and project requirements.
- Support the coordination of telecommunications systems with electrical, architectural, mechanical, structural, and other project disciplines.
- Incorporate design comments, redlines, and revisions accurately and promptly.
- Review assigned work for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and alignment with project and company standards before submitting it for review.
- Work under close supervision, with work effort frequently checked during progress and reviewed upon completion.
- Maintain working knowledge of the discipline’s applicable codes, standards, and design practices; study non‑routine code issues with support from senior designers and engineers.
- Identify and help solve routine design problems but seek assistance from more experienced team members when needed.
- Maintain organized project files and support project documentation, coordination, and quality‑control processes.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, coordination activities, and technical training opportunities as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Desirable engineering bachelor’s degree (Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical, Renewable Energy Engineering, or any related field).
- Six months to three years (1‑3 years)
or more experience as an electrical designer.
- Experience with low‑ and medium‑voltage building systems (facilities).
- Familiarity with applicable electrical, building, and telecommunications codes or standards is preferred; willingness and ability to develop this knowledge is essential.
- Ability to interpret and apply engineering markups, sketches, plans, specifications, and reference documents.
- AutoCAD prior experience.
- Advanced English proficiency. Will report to the US.
Desirable Skills
- Prior Revit experience.
- Prior Revit training.
- Understanding of telecommunications or low‑voltage infrastructure, such as structured cabling, telecommunications pathways and spaces, cable tray, conduit routing, equipment rooms, or related systems.
