The Role

As Birdman's Quality Manager , you will take ownership of the Total Quality Management (TQM) system, overseeing both Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) throughout the entire product lifecycle—from development to manufacturing. You will also manage regulatory affairs, ensuring the successful implementation, renewal, and maintenance of critical certifications such as USDA Organic , FSSC22000 , Kosher , and others, and lead the Analytical Development Function, managing laboratory operations for accurate testing methods, raw material and product validation.

Candidate Profile

We're looking for an experienced Quality Manager well‑versed in all aspects of quality management within the pharmaceutical and/or food industry, with strong analytical thinking and the ability to translate business strategy into actionable plans. The adecuado candidate has experience building a Quality Department from scratch and thrives in a culture of excellence.

Responsibilities

- Maintain and improve quality standards,



ensuring compliance with industry regulations and certifications such as FSSC22000 , USDA Organic , and AgroSider Organico .
- Manage and upgrade Birdman’s quality systems to meet the highest benchmarks of safety and quality.
- Plan and execute QA/QC activities, ensuring product integrity from development through production.
- Oversee laboratory and analytical development operations, including development of analytical methods and standardized testing of raw materials and finished products.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement methods that enhance Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) at every stage of manufacturing and development.
- Define raw material, product, and process specifications aligned with customer needs and stakeholder expectations.
- Validate all raw materials, products, and processes to meet defined specifications.
- Guarantee legal and regulatory compliance, managing permits, product classifications, and marketing approvals for both Mexico and international markets.
- Ensure regulatory compliance in product communications, including claims, labeling, and nutritional information.
- Lead the Environmental and Occupational Safety department, ensuring compliance and a safe work environment.
- Manage the complaints system, conducting root cause analyses to prevent non‑compliant products and improve customer satisfaction.
- Lead, develop, and mentor a high‑performing quality team.
- Steward product development, identifying and resolving deviations from quality standards throughout the development process.
- Manage audits and certifications, leading Birdman through quality, certification, and regulatory audits, and ensuring successful certification renewals.

Basic Requirements

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, QFB, or related field. Master’s degree in Quality Systems preferred.
- Experience:



Minimum 7 years in manufacturing within supplements or pharmaceutical industries, with at least 3 years as a Quality Manager.
- Quality Systems Expertise: Proven experience managing QMS and renewing FSSC22000 certifications; ideally implementation from scratch.
- Certifications: FSSC22000 auditor certification required. Experience and auditor certification in USDA Organic, Kosher, Halal, COFEPRIS GMP, and FDA FSMA desired.
- Laboratory and Analytical Methods: Knowledge of laboratory management and development/audit of analytical methods.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In‑depth knowledge of Mexican regulations (COFEPRIS) and international regulations (LATAM, USA, Europe) regarding food and dietary supplements.
- Regulatory Experience: Proven experience working with regulatory and legal entities such as COFEPRIS, FDA, INVIMA.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities; able to thrive in fast‑paced, complex environments.
- Language Proficiency: Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Spanish.
- Leadership & Cultural Fit: Proven ability to build, mentor, and lead high‑performing teams with an intrapreneurial mindset.

- Master’s Degree in Quality Management.
- ERP Knowledge.
