Strategic Buyer

General Description

Responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for assigned direct material categories, ensuring the best balance of cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance. The role leads commercial negotiations, supplier development initiatives, market analysis, and cost optimization projects while working cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to support business objectives and ensure continuity of supply.

Principal Responsibilities

- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned categories.
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing and favorable commercial terms.
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Evaluate, develop, and manage supplier performance.
- Support new product launches and sourcing activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Monitor supplier capacity, lead times,



and supply continuity to minimize operational risk.
- Participate in supplier selection and qualification processes.
- Support engineering changes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities, risks, and industry trends.
- Prepare regular reports and communicate sourcing activities to key stakeholders.

Requirements

- Approximately 5 years of experience in Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, or Commodity Management within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience negotiating with suppliers and leading sourcing initiatives.
- Strong understanding of supply chain and supplier management processes.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams.
- SAP knowledge is preferred.
- Advanced English.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
