The Institute for Advanced Materials for Sustainable Manufacturing at Tecnológico de Monterrey advances innovation across manufacturing, logistics, and supply chains to address complex industrial challenges.
The Institute promotes applied research with strong engagement with industry, public institutions, and global partners.
The Institute invites ambitious and internationally oriented researchers to apply for a full‐time faculty position focused on developing world‐class interdisciplinary research, technological innovation, and technology‐based entrepreneurship in Supply Chain and Logistics Systems.
Requirements
Hold a Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Transportation, or related disciplines
Demonstrate experience working on supply chain or logistics systems with practical applications
Have proven experience collaborating with industry partners or government organizations
Show the ability to secure research funding and develop strategic industry partnerships
Possess strong written and oral communication skills in English (minimum B2 level).
Spanish is desirable but not required
Research Focus: Supply Chain and Logistics Systems
The successful candidate is expected to conduct research in areas including, but not limited to:
End‐to‐end supply chain analytics and optimization
Logistics network design and transportation systems
Supply chain resilience and risk management
Sustainable and low‐carbon supply chains
Digital supply chain platforms and data‐driven decision systems
Faculty Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be expected to:
Develop a high‐impact applied research program in Supply Chain and Logistics Systems
Collaborate with manufacturing firms, logistics providers, and retailers
Lead research addressing real‐world supply chain challenges
Mentor graduate students working on applied supply chain projects
Publish research while prioritizing operational impact and technology adoption
Industry Engagement
Faculty members are expected to actively contribute to the Institute's industry collaboration strategy by:
Establishing long‐term partnerships with companies and industrial organizations
Participating in the Institute's corporate membership and collaboration programs
Leading industry workshops, executive roundtables, and collaborative innovation initiatives
Contributing to executive education and professional training programs for industry, focused on supply chain transformation
Impact and Performance Indicators
Performance will be evaluated based on:
Attraction of external funding from industry and competitive research grants
Leadership of industry‐sponsored applied research projects
Development of technological solutions, prototypes, and digital platforms
Participation in interdisciplinary flagship projects within the Institute
