**Job Title**: Mainframe Support Engineer
**Location**: Remote in Mexico
**Job Type**: Full-Time
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide L2/L3 support for mainframe-based systems including Clearing and Central Counterparty (CCP) platforms.
- Analyse, debug, and resolve issues in COBOL programs, JCL scripts, and CICS transactions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot DB2 databases, SQL queries, and VSAM file structures.
- Work with IBM MQ for messaging and job processing.
- Interact with operations, business teams, and engineering groups to understand and resolve production issues.
- Create documentation for fixes, technical processes, and error resolutions.
- Participate in change management processes and follow full SDLC practices.
- Develop tools and scripts to automate support processes and enhance system monitoring.
- Work collaboratively across departments to address complex system issues.
- Provide reporting and insights for client communications and compliance reporting.
**Required Skills and Experience**:
- 5+ years of experience in Mainframe Support.
- Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, SQL, and CICS.




- Experience using IBM MQ for inter-process communication.
- Solid understanding of SDLC in mainframe environments.
- Prior experience in supporting clearing business and CCP connectivity is highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, including ability to trace through complex codebases.
- Strong customer service orientation with clear communication and documentation abilities.
- Capable of multitasking and handling multiple issues or projects in parallel.
- Detail-oriented with experience in producing high-quality documentation and tracking error logs.
- Business and financial acumen, with an understanding of general markets and financial products.
Pay: $50,****** - $70,****** per month
**Experience**:
- Mainframe Support: 5 years (required)
- COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, SQL, and CICS: 5 years (required)
- IBM MQ for inter-process communication: 3 years (required)
