Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging First English lessons aligned with the school's Early Years curriculum.
Foster the development of early literacy skills, including phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, and emergent writing.
Create a language-rich classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and communication.
Use play-based, inquiry-based, and experiential learning strategies appropriate for young children.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
Integrate storytelling, music, movement, games, and hands-on activities into daily instruction.
Student Assessment
Observe, assess, and monitor students' language development and learning progress.
Maintain accurate assessment records and student portfolios.
Provide timely feedback to parents and school leadership regarding student progress.
Identify students who may require additional language support and collaborate with relevant specialists.
Classroom Environment
Maintain a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
Promote positive behavior, independence, collaboration, and respect among students.
Organise and maintain classroom resources, books, and instructional materials.
Collaboration and Communication
Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate English learning across the curriculum.
Maintain effective communication with parents regarding student development and classroom activities.
Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and collaborative planning sessions.
Work closely with the Personalized Learning team when additional student support is required.
Curriculum and Professional Practice
Contribute to curriculum planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Stay current with best practices in early childhood education and English language instruction.




Participate in ongoing professional learning and reflective teaching practices.
Safeguarding and Student Wellbeing
Promote the wellbeing, safety, and holistic development of every child.
Comply with all safeguarding, health and safety, and child protection policies.
Report any safeguarding concerns in accordance with school procedures.
Skills
Strong knowledge of early literacy and language development.
Excellent classroom management skills appropriate for Early Years.
Ability to create engaging, child-centered learning experiences.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, English, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field.
Teaching certification appropriate for Preschool or Early Years.
Training in early literacy instruction (desirable).
Native or near-native English proficiency.
Experience
Previous experience teaching English in an Early Years or Preschool setting.
Experience teaching early literacy, phonics, and language development.
Experience in bilingual or international schools is highly desirable.
Experience using play-based and inquiry-based teaching approaches.
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary educational teams.
