Meet the Team:Cisco's IT Finance team provides world-class services as Finance Leaders to develop the financial planning, processes and capabilities to craft a culture of fiscal difficulty while supporting the IT organization's charter.Your Impact:You will partner with the IT Functional Controller on Budgeting and OPEX Management to support Engineering leadership in prioritization and decision-making, portfolio planning, annual budgeting, quarterly commit processes, month-end and quarterly close activities, forecasting, reporting, variance analysis, and driving compliance.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:BudgetingFacilitate business case development to support investment requestsPerform cost analysis and what-if modeling to recommend funding deploymentWork closely with functional leaders to distribute quarterly budgetsDevelop and maintain long-range and annual budgeting modelsForecasting & ReportingLead monthly forecasting with functional leaders and Business OperationsRecommend risk/opportunity adjustments with an objective point of viewMaintain headcount forecast modeling with precisionDevelop and maintain analyses, trends and metrics to influence/drive spend efficiencyTransactions & ComplianceFacilitate transactional execution including stakeholder agreement, compliance check and system processingAdvise the business on transactional accounting treatments and impact on the forecastBe an ambassador of Cisco's financial policies – educate the business, enforce the policies,
coordinate audits and remedial actionsAccounting CloseLead the month-end close process; assess risks/opportunities in the forecastLead all aspects of purchase order management and general ledger reconciliationPartner with Accounting on capitalized costs, amortization and payroll entriesReconcile general ledgers against forecasted spend; identify and resolve gapsOperational ImprovementMaintain alignment of departmental and P&L; hierarchiesDrive continuous process improvement; identify gaps, initiate and implement changesMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; 5+ years of progressive FP&A; and Accounting experienceProven track record to partner with business executives and influence decisions using data-driven insights and sound judgmentSophisticated proficiency with Microsoft Excel including data modeling; working knowledge of enterprise finance tools (Business Objects, Hyperion/Essbase, FinABC)Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with ability to lead complex financial processes and reconciliationsShown success in budgeting, forecasting, financial close processes, and compliance managementPreferred QualificationsMBA or professional finance certification (CPA, CFA,
or equivalent); outstanding written, verbal, and presentation communication skillsProactive, solution-oriented perspective with ability to apply technical expertise and relationship-building skills to resolve complex business problemsDemonstrated adaptability and agility in multifaceted, ground-breaking environments with shown ability to balance short-term results and long-term capability buildingExperience leading cross-functional teams in month-end/quarterly close processes and driving continuous improvement in execution initiativesTrack record of translating complex financial data into actionable insights for executive-level decision-makingWhy Cisco?
