Crisis & Continuity Management & Security Specialist - Americas
Location: Mexico City, Mexico
Role Overview
The Crisis & Continuity Management (CCM) & Security Specialist plays a key role in strengthening CCM & Security across the organization, with a particular focus on the Americas Performance Unit (PU). The role supports the Crisis & Continuity Management & Security Lead and contributes to building, maintaining, and improving CCM & Security plans, procedures, and response capabilities.
This position is responsible for developing and updating Emergency Response crisis and continuity plans and coordinating closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure information remains accurate and current. The role supports the design and delivery of training and exercises for PU and country response teams and contributes to the operational resilience for the organization.
Key responsibilities also include maintaining CCM & Security on-call structures, emergency response systems, and office-based facilities, as well as supporting continuous improvement by leading or assisting in lessons-learned reviews following incidents. The role additionally supports tracking and maintenance of the global CCM & Security budget.
The advisor mentors response teams and participates in the on-call rotation, requiring full availability (24/7) when on duty to respond to emergencies.
The team is diverse and dynamic. Candidate should be passionate about ensuring the business is actively prepared to respond to a wide range of risks.
Role will be responsible for working with Local and Global HSE&C; team, Site Managers, PU and Integral Supply Chain (GSC) leadership teams for the responsible region, internal and external customers / partners, experts and regulatory authorities, and subject matter experts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Design & Maintenance of tiered response frameworks in his/her respective regions
- Implement CCM & Security programs across the respective region, including risk assessments, responder standards, tiered response frameworks, and travel safety (including event/hotel security assessments).
- Maintain readiness by training IMT/CCTs, leading exercises, and delivering security awareness programs.
- Contribute to continuous learning & improvement.
- Develop & update plans and procedures, including ERPs, workplace violence plans, A4P protocols, crisis communications, and security procedures.
- Provide operational support to PUs and GSC as required (e.g., for incidents, site assessments, event security, external agency engagement, embedding CCM/Security into risk reviews and audits).
- Support in managing relationships & contracts, including law enforcement, emergency response agencies, security contractors, and local service contracts/tools.
- Ensure proper engagement and set up of the Business Security Representative (BSR) framework, ensuring that business operations remain safe, resilient, and aligned with company’s security standards.
- Monitor BSR activities, such as daily coordination, risk management, incident reporting, contractor oversight, assurance follow-up, and maintenance of accurate security risk registers.
- Mentor response teams and perform on-call duties. When on duty,
the role holder will be required to be available 24/7 to respond to emergencies.
Experience & Qualifications
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Sciences, Hazard/Process Engineering, Risk Management, Emergency/Crisis/Security Management, Health & Safety, or International Relations.
- Professional certifications preferred (e.g., ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP)).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Crisis Management / Emergency Response and Security.
- Experience in an operational environment or within FMCG environment.
- Experience in preparing concise plans or reports.
- Experience leading and/or facilitating discussions and meetings with senior leadership.
- Experience delivering training sessions for a variety of audiences and coaching teams.
- Experience working in the energy industry preferred.
- Experience working in high pressured situations with the ability to prioritize work when faced with multiple requirements, and the ability to progress issues when only partial information is available.
- Awareness of agile methodologies and tools.
