How You Will Make a Difference
- Key Responsibilities_
- Design, implement, maintain, and administer routers, SDWAN devices, and datacenter switches.
- Design, implement, maintain, and administer Internet edge router
- Team collaboration with other team members globally and provide support as needed.
- Mentor other network engineers and support, mentor collaborate with other network teams.
- Protect data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing in accordance with the Alcon Security and compliance environment.
- Able to present architectural concepts, troubleshooting details (LEVEL 2), and able to communicate with technical team members and non-technical team members.

Skills For Success
- Key Requirements/Minimum Requirements_
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs).
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- 3+ Years of Relevant Experience.
- CCNP or equivalent experience.
- Experience in Network WAN technology with robust LAN/WLAN a plus.
- Experience in Cloud Infrastructure such as AWS and Azure.
- Experience working within a global infrastructure supporting WAN and Cloud.
- Documentation of design and implemented solution.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting AWS, Azure, SDWAN, MPLS, and MAN environments.
- Expert level knowledge in routing protocols, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VXLAN,, MPLS, TE, MAN, VPLS and carrier terminology.
- Nice to have: experience working in CISCO or Cirion.
Ideal to also have:
- Good/Advanced level of *nix operating systems;
- Knowledge of Bash, Python, Ansible scripting, etc;
- Knowledge of Cloud/Virtualization Technologies: KVM, OpenStack, ESXi;
- A self-developed example of documents: presentations, description of the solution
