**About the role**
You will be working with one of our most valued clients, a mid-sized accounting firm based in Portland, Oregon.
**What you'll do**
- Maintain and update cash accounting records with no assistance.
- Maintain and update accrual accounting records and files with little assistance.
- Perform complex bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies with little assistance.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including aged receivables.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.




- Conduct regular ledger reconciliations and audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and systems.
- Provide guidance and training to Junior Staff Accountants.
**Qualifications**
- Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
- 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or a similar accounting role in an accounting
firm.
- Proven ability to handle more complex accounting tasks independently.
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a high degree of empathy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex financial concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
- Fluency in the English language.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient in the use of accounting software, especially QuickBooks Online and Xero.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
