We are currently seeking the best talent for **Procurement**Manager.**
The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing procurement activities across the terminals in Lazaro Cardenas and Yucatan, ensuring the efficient acquisition of services, inventory, supplies, and capital goods. This role involves negotiating optimal terms for price, delivery, credit, and after-sales support while maintaining compliance with corporate procurement policies and sustainability standards. The Procurement Manager leads a team that evaluates vendors, optimizes service and inventory levels, and ensures cost-effective purchasing decisions. A key responsibility is to advise senior terminal management on procurement strategies, reporting systems, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and financial control. In addition to driving procurement excellence,
this role ensures adherence to corporate guidelines, including Procurement Standards, Finance Control Manual, COMMIT, and Sustainable Procurement policies. The Procurement Manager strengthens procurement governance, mitigates risks related to fraud and liabilities, and upholds transparency in procurement processes. This position plays a critical role in ensuring procurement operations align with business objectives while fostering efficiency, cost savings, and strategic supplier relationships.

**What are the main responsibilities of this role?**
- Efficient purchasing of services, inventory, supplies, and equipment.
- Verifying purchase requisitions for accuracy and authorization.
- Overseeing tenders, bid evaluations, and vendor selection.
- Aligning procurement with company policies and global guidelines.
- Managing RFQs, RFPs, RFIs, and contracts, ensuring competitive terms.
- Maintaining strong vendor relationships and records.
- Analyzing market trends and supplier capabilities.
- Preparing control strategies and sourcing plans.
- Collaborating with legal teams for contract preparation.
- Coordinating with departments for issue resolution.
- Expediting purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery.
- Supervising daily requisitions and stock levels.
- Building a culture of long-term cost savings.
- Defining KPIs for team performance tracking.
- Developing colleague's procurement skills.

**What talent are we looking for?**
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5-10 years of purchasing experience in private industry, preferably shipping or transportation.
- Extensive procurement practices and principles knowledge.
- Proficiency in customs laws, rules, and regulations.
- Managerial experience leading a similar-sized procurement team.
- Inventory control system management expertise.
- Proven negotiation skills.
- Sound business judgement and priority-setting abilities.
- Advanced English communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with data extraction, compilation, and analysis capabilities.
- Basic finance and accounting principles understanding.
- Cost/Price analysis skills.
- Contract law knowledge.

- CPPB or lean manufacturing certification is a plus.
