We are seeking a Customs Coordinator to serve as the key link between the Customs Department and the company's operational teams. This role is responsible for ensuring effective communication and coordination across departments, facilitating the timely exchange of information, and supporting compliance with all applicable customs regulations and trade requirements. POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This role will support shipments from the United States into Mexico, shipments from Mexico to the United States or other countries, and domestic shipments within Mexico, including shipments from an IMMEX-certified operation to non-IMMEX Mexican customers.

This position requires expertise in Mexican customs, temporary imports, definitive imports, export documentation, and inventory control.

The adecuado candidate will be a hands-on customs and logistics expert who can manage freight flows while ensuring the company remains fully compliant with IMMEX.

Located in our Silao Office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customs & IMMEX Compliance
Manage part of customs compliance activities for import, export, temporary import, definitive import, virtual operations, returns, transfers, and domestic Mexico shipments.

Communicate between the company and third parties regarding each of activity with the intention to ensure full compliance with IMMEX requirements, including proper use of temporary import regimes, export obligations, inventory controls, discharge processes, and documentation retention.

Oversee and validate pedimentos, customs invoices, commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, USMCA documentation, country-of-origin declarations, tariff classifications, valuation data, and other import/export records.

Support compliance with Annex 24 inventory control obligations.
Execution & Service Delivery
Own day-to-day execution of trade transactions against committed delivery timelines and service levels.

This position will help to validate interaction and responsibilities between third parties,



verifying pedimentos and supporting documentation before submission to minimize errors before they reach the authority or the customer.

Coordinate and drive resources between all involved parties.
Regulatory, Documentation & Audit Control

Coordinate with the appropriate internal stakeholders to ensure all required documentation is available and properly reviewed in the event of a Federal or State Government audit.

Identify compliance risks and recommend corrective actions before they become regulatory, financial, or operational issues.
Classification, Valuation & Trade Program Support
Ensure correct treatment of raw materials, components, machinery, tooling, samples, spare parts, finished goods, returns, repairs, and intercompany transfers.

Coordinate activities related to USMCA and other preferential trade programs, including the review and management of supporting documentation when applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Most important qualifications — execution profile: a demonstrable sense of urgency, exceptional attention to detail, customer communication skills, and proven project-management ability with a track record of meeting objectives by leading resources not under direct control.
Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain, Customs, Business, Finance, or a related field required; equivalent experience may be considered.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Mexican customs, IMMEX operations, cross-border logistics, trade compliance, or maquiladora/export manufacturing operations.

Experience managing shipments from the U.S. into Mexico and from Mexico to the U.S. or other countries.

Experience managing domestic Mexico shipments, including transactions involving IMMEX and non-IMMEX Mexican customers.

Strong understanding of Mexican customs broker processes, pedimentos, and import/export documentation.

Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and warehouses.

Ability to read, review, and validate customs documentation for accuracy and compliance.

Fluency in Spanish and English required.
