About the Role
Lead the review and approval of account reconciliations and preparation of monthly/annual financial statements. Ensure timely and accurate revenue and cost recognition, including provisions and accruals.
Responsibilities
- Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee electronic accounting systems and ensure compliance with internal and external reporting standards.
- Manage aging of all major balance sheet accounts.
- Act as the primary liaison for external auditors.
- Ensure documentation, policies, and support schedules are audit-ready at all times.
- Internal Controls & Compliance
- Implement, monitor, and enhance internal financial controls across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements (ISR, VAT, and others), including periodic filings and audits.
- Oversee current and deferred tax calculations, interest recognition, and debt-related accounting.
- Support C-Suit team risk management processes and corporate governance frameworks as referenced in the company’s Risk Management Framework files.
- Treasury & Cash Management
- Supervise bank reconciliations and cash-flow monitoring.
- Support budgeting process, funding requirements, and debt covenant compliance.
- Maintain strong oversight of payments and treasury workflows.
- Business Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Provide financial insights and advisory support to Executive Management, Commercial teams, and Finance leadership.
- Collaborate on project transitions for acquired entities, including accounting, controls,
and opening balance processes.
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop the accounting team, establishing measurable performance standards and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 8 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or auditing.
- Strong expertise in tax compliance and statutory reporting.
- Familiarity with IFRS, Mexican GAAP, and corporate governance best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Intermedium-advanced level of English (written and spoken) is desirable.
- Relevant network within the financial industry and previous experience in related transactions.
- Knowledge of financing options and relevant stakeholders and institutions.
- Ability to manage challenging timelines, budgets and tasks, coordinating with third parties.
- Travel expected: Structured, accurate, and proactive working standards.
- Excellent teamwork, interpersonal skills and positive attitude.
Required Skills
