Description
JOB PURPOSE:
The Associate Merchandiser supports the product lifecycle from development and sampling through production, order execution, quality control and delivery. This role works closely with vendors, factories, logistics partners and internal teams to ensure products meet cost, quality and timeline expectations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Track product development, samples, testing, approvals and key seasonal milestones.
- Maintain accurate product documentation, quote sheets, SKU worksheets and status reports.
- Review and manage purchase orders, including quantities, costs, lead times, ship windows and vendor information.
- Monitor production status and identify risks related to materials, capacity, quality or delivery.
- Coordinate with vendors and logistics teams on shipment readiness, bookings, documentation and delivery timelines.
- Support the resolution of order, transportation, ASN, invoice and receiving issues.
- Follow up on quality inspections, testing results, defects and corrective action plans.
- Monitor vendor performance related to on-time delivery, order accuracy, quality and responsiveness.
- Provide clear updates to Merchandising, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality and Brand teams.
- Analyze order and vendor data to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
- Visit vendors and factories when required to review samples, production, quality and outstanding issues
JOB HOLDER’S COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, International Business, Engineering, Business Administration, Merchandising or a related field.
- At least one year of experience in sourcing, merchandising, supply chain, logistics, order management or vendor management. Experience in furniture, upholstery or consumer products is preferred.
- Strong follow-up, organization, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with teams across different time zones.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Professional English proficiency.
- Ability to travel to vendor and factory locations when required.
- Effectively manage and communicate with stakeholders from different time zones and provide timely response.
- Able to deliver results by influencing internal and external partners.
