Role Overview

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in firewalls and hands-on experience in automation/DevOps practices. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and automating secure cloud networking and firewall solutions across multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).

The idóneo candidate combines deep firewall knowledge with the ability to build automation workflows that improve scalability, security, and efficiency.

This role requires demonstrated, hands-on expertise in cloud platforms and cloud networking fundamentals. Candidates who only claim exposure without being able to explain or implement core cloud services, networking, and DevOps concepts will not be considered.

The candidate must be able to clearly articulate and demonstrate practical knowledge of GCP/Azure/AWS fundamentals, firewall concepts, and DevOps practices during technical discussions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, configure, and manage firewall solutions (Palo Alto, Fortinet, or cloud-native firewalls) in production-grade cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Integrate firewall and network security workflows into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Troubleshoot and resolve firewall, network, and connectivity issues in multi-cloud environments, demonstrating strong understanding of underlying cloud services and networking behavior.
- Collaborate with cloud, security, and DevOps teams to design and deliver secure and automated infrastructure.
- Document automation processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for operational reuse.
- Stay current with cloud networking, security, and automation best practices.
- Demonstrate ability to validate, test,



and troubleshoot cloud-native firewall rules, routing, and connectivity issues independently.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience working directly on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) in a networking/security or DevOps capacity (not just theoretical knowledge or limited exposure).
- Strong hands-on expertise with firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, or cloud-native equivalents).
- Solid understanding of cloud platform fundamentals, especially GCP/Azure/AWS core services (compute, networking, IAM, storage), with ability to explain and apply them in real scenarios.
- Proven experience with automation and DevOps practices (Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD, scripting).
- Ability to clearly demonstrate DevOps knowledge including CI/CD pipeline design, automation workflows, and real-world use cases (not just tool familiarity).
- Good understanding of cloud networking concepts (VPC/VNet, routing, VPN, hybrid connectivity).
- Strong foundational knowledge of networking and firewall concepts, with the ability to troubleshoot and explain decisions during technical discussions.
- Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting.
- Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments.

Preferred Skills

- Certifications in Azure/AWS/GCP and/or firewall technologies (Palo Alto, Fortinet).
- Familiarity with F5 load balancers and API-based automation.
- Exposure to Zero Trust, SDN, or microsegmentation.
- Experience integrating cloud security tools with monitoring/SIEM platforms.
- Hands-on experience specifically with GCP networking and firewall configurations is highly preferred.
- Experience building end-to-end automated network/security solutions (from provisioning to deployment via CI/CD pipelines)
