An established general industrial manufacturer is seeking an Advanced Materials Research Scientist to join its growing R&D; team in Piedras Negras, Coahuila. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys developing innovative materials and translating research into products used in real-world industrial applications.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and develop advanced materials, including polymers, composites, ceramics, metals, or related material systems
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate thermal, electrical, mechanical, and microstructural properties
- Analyze test results and identify opportunities to improve material performance, reliability, and manufacturability
- Support the development of new material formulations and help transition research from the laboratory into manufacturing
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, product development, and supply chain teams to bring new technologies to market
- Document technical findings and contribute to innovation initiatives, including intellectual property where applicable
Qualifications
- PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science,
Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field
- 4+ years of experience in advanced materials research and development
- Industry experience is strongly preferred
- Experience with material characterization techniques such as DSC, TGA, FTIR, SEM, or similar
- Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DoE) and data-driven experimentation
- Experience supporting material scale-up, process development, or commercialization is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Professional working proficiency in English
Full time, onsite (5 days per week)
Compensation: Competitive compensation package, with a target range of up to MXN $60,000 gross per month based on experience
